Hey Langley!

First of all - what a night for Canadian hockey!

I am still buzzing after Connor McDavid's breathtaking overtime winner against Team USA in Boston. That golden goal, reminiscent of Sidney Crosby's 2010 Olympic heroics, is a highlight that I suspect many of us will remember for years to come.

For those who missed the game, here's a video of the tournament-winning goal.

Of course, it wouldn't have been a Canada vs USA hockey game if one of the national anthems wasn't showered with jeering by the home crowd. In this case, it was the American fans booing Oh Canada.

For that reason, here's the video of when Oh Canada was played during the tournament's medal ceremony. You'll notice a distinct lack of booing, as well as a sense of unbridled joy that only seems to happen once in a very long time.

Quite frankly, it's the perfect energy boost as we head into the weekend.

From the soulful sounds of Western Canadian Music Award winner Krystle Dos Santos at Bez Arts Hub tonight, to classic rock echoing through the historic Fort Langley Community Hall, our community venues are coming alive this weekend.

The Vancouver Giants are gearing up for a crucial matchup against the Kelowna Rockets at the LEC, while theatre enthusiasts won't want to miss the whimsical physical comedy of "The Routine."

And for our craft beer aficionados, Smugglers Trail is capping off the weekend with their annual Kilt Night Cask Fest.
